Peace Like a River
Blue Ridge Hope Collection — Original 4 of 7
Water has always had a way of making the world feel a little quieter.
In Peace Like a River, an old stone bridge stretches across a mountain stream while water tumbles over the rocks below. Rhododendrons bloom along the bank, and beyond the bridge the landscape continues into the quiet Blue Ridge forest.
I wanted this painting to feel like one of those places where you could sit for a while, listen to the water and forget about everything demanding your attention.
The old bridge represents the paths that carry us through different seasons of life, while the moving water reminds me that even when life keeps changing, peace can still be found along the way.
Part of my seven-piece Hopeful Havens Blue Ridge Hope Collection, this original celebrates the streams, stone bridges, rhododendrons and hidden mountain places that make the Blue Ridge so special to me.
